Given the recent FAL threads, I thought I’d start one with images of a Commonwealth L1A1 in the “inch” pattern. Around 1993, it first appeared as a Century Arms UK kit. Before receiving a kit that met my needs, I returned two others. While the barrel and furniture were in great shape, many of the smaller parts were in disrepair. For the “bits and pieces,” I started buying new parts, but they were all made in Australia. The receiver was purchased when EAI began playing such commercials in SGN. Later, I discovered an NIW Australian barrel for $150.00 (IIRC) at The Dealer Warehouse. It was eventually finished for me by Entreprise Arms.
When TAPCO received all those new Aussie Parts, I ordered a quantity. The rifle, which was otherwise fully Australian (apart from the American Receiver and compliance components, of course), finally received an NIW coachwood buttstock and pistol handle. I had to settle for a used pair of handguards because new ones are practically impossible to find. I partially restored them using oven cleaning and light sanding. The metal is still in the same condition as when I discovered it. If I can locate some authentic aluminum rivets, I’ll remove, media blast, park, and paint. If they don’t, they’ll merely end up giving the firearm more personality.

to keep it running I attempted to attach the rubber with glue, but it only worked for a few days.
I’ve come close to selling her half a dozen times over the years, but I’ve always decided against it. She’s a joy to photograph, therefore I’m happy. Although I prefer the M14 to the L1A1, the L2A2 Trilux shoots the ball with a 1.25 MOA, making her a keeper.

Numerous thousands of cartridge cases, bullets, pieces of army gear, clothing, relics from Native Americans, and the skeletal remains of soldiers who perished on June 25, 1876 were found at the location. The computer-assisted analysis of the distribution of artifacts on the battlefield shed light on how the opposing sides made advantage of the topography. The identification of the thousands of recovered rounds improved our knowledge of the role played by the firearm in the conflict. Most importantly, the archaeological dig made clear in great detail how the 7th Cavalry under Colonel George Cluster was outnumbered, outarmed, and outfought by the Native American foes.

Built on an Australian L1A1 F1 Self-Loading Rifle with a Forged Match Grade Vintage Pre-Ban Entreprise Arms Buena Park Receiver. This rifle is very accurate thanks to the way we created it. Because this is not a regular FAL/L1A1 rifle, you cannot ask ordinary FAL/L1A1 builders about it because they have no knowledge of it. However, our customers claim that our melonited barrels fire like lasers.
This rifle is fully 922R compliant and comes with a factory magazine and genuine Lithgow Coachwood furniture.
This barrel has a 1 in 10 twist rate, and it is chambered for M118LR sniper ammunition.
It uses NATO or Commercial Brass in all Bullet Grain weights.
Military barrels were chambered for the M80 ball and featured a 1 in 12 twist.

Our barrels have an entirely different barrel harmonic than regular FAL/L1A1 barrels because to the enhanced stiffness the meloniting provides. The F1 Muzzle Brake on our barrel is incredibly accurate when used with the newly created barrel harmonic.

We developed our Parkerizing methods and formulas precisely to reproduce the original Lithgow finish.
